Nova

The only retail training facility in the Vale of Glamorgan, Nova is so much more than a charity shop! We sell hand made cards, jewellery, gifts and our most popular line; Welsh souvenirs. 

 

Nova is staffed by ValePlus service users under the guidance of the shop manager. New trainees follow an individual training programme whilst they are learning the routine of the shop including how to use the till, checking the stock and recording sales. They then follow the ASDAN Workright course which is a preparatory level programme. Trainees can then move on to the Employability qualification which starts at Entry 2 and continues to level 2.

 

Trainees are encouraged to work as independently as possible around the shop and this is a good stepping stone to seeking permanent employment.
